Episode 15- WAITING in Advent
...this may be the ONLY ADVENT EVER we have been given the ability to be quiet, still, WAIT. Relish it, embrace it! In this year of friend and families not gathering as usual- let it bring us back to the point that is always a struggle to keep in the center: Christmas is about Christ’s birth! His party colors are red and green but in Advent we are WAITING-making the house (our hearts) ready, lights out-in anticipation of the guest of honor...and the amazing beautiful good news of hope is?....that indeed he COMES!
In PSALM 40:1 we are reminded: “I have waited patiently on the Lord, he inclined to me (leaned in towards me) and heard my cry” Jesus wants to come to US! May our hearts be inclined, may our minds be at peace that we don’t miss it!!!

Episode 14 - Advent (Latin for "Coming")
...Jesus is coming!! Advent is the BEGINNING of the Liturgical Year....What do we need to do to clean house? To reset? To begin ANEW? NOW...don’t wait for 2021 to start afresh...let’s do it now! Let’s declare “GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST! And on earth Peace and Good Will towards men.!” (Luke 2:14) God is sooo good, we are sooo loved, but how often we forget, how often we live in a scarcity mindset.
be Loved, start afresh. REMEMBER and dwell in the abundant Goodness of God who loves us. Move some things out, throw away negative mindsets..and find your way back to sing “Glory to God in the Highest!!”C
Episode 3 - Affirming our Hubbies!
Today we discussed AFFIRMING our HUSBANDS. In Romans 8:39...”nothing will be able to separate us from the Love of Christ”- is that what we are showing our hubbies?
CHALLENGE: Let’s try to AFFIRM our spouse once a day this week! Not for who they “could” be or “should” be or “used to” be...but for WHO they ARE..
Episode 17- “All things work for the good”
New Year...new things!! Whether 2020 brought the much needed blessing of a quieter slower family life - or the challenge to surrender amidst the anxiety of financial and personal challenges we have all been on quite a journey! ROMANS 8:28 tells us that “All things work for the good for those who love God and are called according to His Purpose” What GOOD will this year cause in YOU and your family/friends?
▶️ ASK God what GOOD thing can come from your difficult experiences? And- the Grace to make that happen.
Episode 18 - Rooted in LOVE!
Episode 18- Rooted in LOVE! Does our prayer leave us better able to love? In Corinthians 13:1-3 we are told that we can have allll the knowledge and understanding of men and angels (and philosophers and politicians!) , give away all we have to the poor, have faith....BUT if we “have not Love we are a resounding gong and clanging symbol” just noise! Let Jesus in through the “noise” to reach our hearts so we can drop all the things that preoccupy us and focus on LOVING those near to us.
▶️ This week, try to come to Jesus, drop the “to-do/wish list” and let HIM enkindle true Charity in your heart as only He can!
Episode 19-Sometimes WE are the Project!
Episode 19- Today we talked about our projects...and how often in Gods divine wisdom the REAL PROJECT is on US!!! In a Romans 7:13 it says “is that what is good then become death to me? NO...but sin so that it could be clearly seen...used good to bring about my “death”. So often our good intentioned projects lead us AWAY from our best selves...maybe this is because God loves us enough to turn “our projects” into “projects on US!” He loves us MORE than our circumstances and will use EVERYTHING to bring us closer. He is loving us every moment. Sometimes we need to stop and remember not only that we are loved....but to receive that an BE loved.

Episode 21- Gods dreams for us are BETTER than our own....TRUST His ways
Episode 21 - yup... on a Thursday! (sorry, I was sick!) Proverbs 3:5-6 asks us to take a chance and "TRUST in the Lord with all our hearts, and lean NOT on our own understanding". This weekend was Celeste's be 5-0! Reflecting back on the last 50years, I have seen proof that Gods ways are far more ABUNDANT than mine! Making our own plans, seeking love and success and family OUR WAY can only give us what we can comprehend or dream at best; but most often we get heartbreak or frustration. Instead of seeking love, seeking fellowship, seeking understanding .....seek the Lord to be your "knight in shining armor" Then try it HIS WAY and BE love for others, BE fellowship for others, be understanding of others. These small offerings, scattered like seeds and tended by the Lord- eventually SURROUND you with the most abundant beautiful gardens beyond your imagination!
▶️Take a Chance - TRUST God in a special way this week, do something HIS way that doesnt make sense to you. When you look back- we promise you will be amazed! .
Episode 20 - Lent & Why We Sacrifice
Episode 20- LENT! “A season of sacrifice, repentance and fasting preceding Easter” Today we talked about WHY we fast and sacrifice. To choose something besides ourselves and our preferences- so that we may stop being the “center of our world” and allow Jesus his rightful place as Lord of our lives and those around us. In Romans 12:1 it says “let US be a SACRIFICE, Holy and acceptable to the Lord” No one deserves our love and attention more than Jesus!! Lent is a great way to “clear the bugs off the windshield” (so to speak) so that we may SEE more clearly all the love and beauty showered down around us!!
▶️ find things you can do to get your distractions out of you way this Lent- for the purpose of seeing God, his purpose for you and His blessings more clearly.
